Privacy Policy
How we handle information collected through this website.
Last updated: April 2026
A quick note on scope
This policy covers information collected through twofoldcounseling.com. If you become a client of Twofold Counseling, your protected health information is governed by a separate Notice of Privacy Practices under HIPAA, which we provide at intake. That document, not this one, describes how we handle clinical records.
What we collect
We try to collect as little as possible. Here's everything:
- Contact form submissions. When you fill out the "Get in Touch" or "Book a Consultation" form, we receive your name, email, and message. The consultation form also asks for phone and the type of session you're looking for. Anything you write into the message field is sent directly to us by email.
- Theme preference. If you toggle between light and dark mode, your choice is stored in your browser using
localStorage. It never leaves your device and we can't see it.
We don't use analytics, advertising pixels, or tracking cookies. We don't build profiles of visitors.
How we use it
Information you submit through a contact form is used to reply to you. That's it. We do not sell, rent, or share it with marketers. A limited number of our staff may see it in the course of responding.
Please avoid including sensitive health details in a contact form. Once you become a client, we'll have secure ways to communicate about clinical matters.
Third-party services we use
A few services make this website work. They may, in the normal course of serving pages to you, see basic technical information like your IP address and browser type.
- Hosting. Our site is served from cloud hosting infrastructure, which keeps standard server logs for security and reliability.
- SMTP2GO. Delivers contact form submissions to our inbox.
- OpenFreeMap. Provides the map tiles on our contact page.
- Google Fonts. Loads the typography you're reading right now.
- SimplePractice client portal. If you click "Client Login" or a booking link, you leave our site and enter SimplePractice, which has its own privacy practices.
Cookies
This site does not set tracking cookies. The only thing stored in your browser is the theme preference described above, which uses localStorage rather than a cookie.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them through this site. Services for minors are arranged directly with their parent or guardian.
Your choices
You can contact us any time to ask what information we have from your form submissions, or to ask us to delete it. Write to kyle@twofoldcounseling.com.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll change the "Last updated" date at the top of the page. Significant changes will be announced more prominently.
